Anil Kumar (25.6.1941 - 9.11.2024)
one of the pioneers of NMR in India passed away this weekend.
He was well known for his pioneering work on Fourier imaging and using NOE for
strutcure determination in proteins in the groups of Richard Ernst and Kurt Wüthrich.
Later on he worked on cross-correlated relaxation and quantum computing at IISC
in Bangalore. He was a great scientist and person and will be deerly missed.
The Groupement AMPERE offers condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace, Anil!
Alexander Pines (22.6.1945-1.11.2024)
one of the pioneers of NMR passed away last weekend.
He was well known for
his work on solid-state and low-field NMR. He was not only a talented scientist
but also a gifted teacher, mentor and fun person. The Groupement AMPERE offers
condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace, Alex!
Klaus Möbius (4.6.1936-18.10.2024)
one of the pioneers of EPR passed away.
He was well known for his fundamental work
on EPR and its applications to photosynthetic centers. The Groupement AMPERE offers
condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace, Klaus!
the AMPERE Café
organized by
Jennifer Mathies and
David Joseph,
is a framework for virtual get-togethers, with which we aim to foster informal
interactions among scientists working in the field of magnetic resonance.
Upcoming online edition:
will be announced soon
The AMPERE Visual Encyclopedia of NMR
is a collection of short educational videos in the field of
magnetic resonance. The videos can be found on our
YouTube channel.
If you would like to contribute a video, please contact us at
